All-on-4 ® treatment concept

Dr. Lytle explains the benefits of the revolutionary All-on-4® treatment concept for patients who want to replace all of their teeth – the same day.

Chances are, having to replace all of your teeth isn’t something you planned on. Maybe you just were never able to get the kind of dental care you needed earlier in life, or it could be another health condition has caused accelerated decay. Whatever the reason, it’s nothing to be ashamed of and the experts at Lytle, Tate & Stamper can help. For patients in La Canada, Glendale, and Pasadena, All-on-4® is changing the way people think about permanent teeth replacement.

What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?

While still vastly superior to dentures, which were the only option for total replacement of teeth in the past, standard implant-supported replacement teeth still require an implant for every tooth being replaced. If you’re replacing all of your teeth, that adds up to a large number of implants. Now, through a revolutionary advance in dental science, La Canada, Glendale, and Pasadena’s All-on-4® experts are able to offer replacement of entire upper and/or lower teeth sets on only 4 or 5 specially placed implants per set.

The All-on-4® treatment concept provides another option for patients who might not otherwise be eligible for dental implants due to significant loss of bone in the jaw. It’s also ideally suited for individuals with advanced tooth decay. Probably the best part of all, though, is that All-on-4® provides total replacement of teeth in a single day!

What’s Involved In All-on-4®?

Pasadena, La Canada, and Glendale patients can expect the following through the All-on-4® process:

  1. We begin with an initial consultation to examine your jaw, dental arch, teeth, and smile. Based on our analysis, we formulate a custom treatment plan for the replacement of your teeth, create temporary teeth and special guides, and schedule your procedure.
  2. On procedure day, we remove the existing teeth in your dental arch and install the implants which will serve as the foundation for your new teeth. The procedure can be performed under either local anesthesia or IV sedation and only takes about an hour and a half to complete. It can be done in an outpatient surgery center if you prefer.
  3. Within a few hours of your surgery, your temporary replacement teeth will be attached to the dental implants. You will have these transitional teeth for 4-5 months while your implants solidify their bond with your jaws.
  4. Once your implants have fully bonded, you will be invited back to receive your permanent replacement teeth. These teeth will look and feel just like natural teeth and are made to last a lifetime.

Benefits of the All-on-4® Treatment Concept

There are a number of benefits of the All-on-4® treatment concept over other methods, including:

  • Results in a single day: you receive fully functioning replacement teeth within hours of surgery.
  • Alternative to bone grafts: All-on-4® is viable for patients lacking sufficient bone mass for traditional implants without the need for bone grafts.
  • Time savings: avoids the additional time required for bone grafts and long integration periods.
  • Lower cost: with only 4-5 implants needed per teeth set, as opposed to one implant per tooth with standard implants, All-on-4® can provide significant cost savings.
